The dead cannot cry out for justice; it is a duty of the living to do so for them. Lois McMaster Bujold
UPDATE: The 2020 Memorial Toy Drive was even more successful than 2019. We we concerned the Pandemic would greatly affect giving, but we collected almost 1300 toys and gifts for the East Tennessee Safe Space for survivors of domestic violence, an increase of over 500 toys. Thank you to all who donated in memory of Leah. This website is to remember our beloved Leah Avril who was born June 13, 1991, and passed to be in the presence of our Lord on Nov.17, 2009, and who experienced the ultimate Domestic Violence situation, which resulted in her death at the age of 18. Never Forgotten! Help Stop DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!
Forever 18 years young.........
Our lives are so much better by having had you in it, but so terribly sad with missing you daily!
We are getting ready to start our 2020 Annual Leah Victoria Memorial Toy Drive on Nov.17 - Dec. 17. All toys collected are donated to the local domestic violence shelter for children caught up in unimaginable circumstances. Leah loved children and would be so proud.
Leah is surely smiling down at all these gifts collected in her memory for the children of domestic violence. Over 688 gifts and counting....Thank you to the businesses that allowed a box to be placed there, and to all the ones that donated gifts. Again, Thank You!

"And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?" Luke 24:32 (KJV)
This was one of many favorite scriptures of Leah's, and she would quote it often to her Mamaw.
Leah,You and I had always planned on going to France someday to visit your French relatives. Your grandmother, Josette, was born in France and that was a life long dream of ours. I am so sad we will never get to realize so many of our dreams. My heart is so broken~my life is so broken.
